Atago 1.0000 to 1.0600 Urine specific gravity Refractometer, PAL-10S

The PAL-10S is a digital hand-held compact refractometer to measure urine S.G. To operate it, simply place a drop of urine on the prism top and press the "Start"key. Then, the urine S.G. value will be displayed on the LCD instantly. If the kidneys have any disease or decreased function, the water content in the body cannot be regulated and the urine’s specific gravity value will differ from the standard value. The decrease in the body’s ability to properly concentrate urine will result in highly concentrated or severely low concentrated urine, which is linked to certain health problems.

Urine Specific Gravity Values:

Urine specific gravity over 1.026 is a sign of danger!

• Standard Range: 1.009 ~ 1.025
• High Value (1.026~): Dehydration, Renal Insufficiency Anuria, Fluid Restriction
• Low value (~1.008): Too much fluid intake, Diabetes Insipidus, kidney failure, pyelonephritis

Fair and Square Competition:

• In doping testing, for urine samples over 150ml or more, the expected specific gravity is over 1.0003. For urine samples that are over 90ml but under 150ml, the expected specific gravity is 1.005.
